“A health disparity refers to a higher burden of illness, injury, disability, or mortality experienced by one group to another group.

Health disparities are not biological, but instead emerge from social, economic, political, and other external causes.”

From 2008 to 2020 he served as Chief of Cardiology. Over the years Dr. Batiste has been recognized for his work by multiple organizations.

As a result of this, in 2011, Dr. Batiste led out in establishing the Integrative Cardiovascular Disease Program to prevent the re-occurrence of major adverse cardiac events in patients who have been diagnosed with a cardiovascular disease by focusing on lifestyle modification.

Dr. Batiste’s mission is to share information so that “each one can teach one” about the benefits of plant-based nutrition, daily exercise, and stress reduction and therefore; provide everyone with the opportunity to take control of their health. This mission has led to speaking around the nation. In 2016 Dr. Batiste co-developed Slave Food, a project that explores the relationship between stress, racial discrimination and nutritional stress in the formation of health disparities.

“Health disparities do not exist because of a genetic inferiority. Health disparities exist because communities have been neglected allowing life stressors and racial discrimination ignited by poor nutrition to fuel chronic disease”

My father - now deceased - was a general surgeon in Chicago, IL and my paternal grandmother was a nurse. I received this calling on my life during my high school years when I discovered my love for the sciences and for helping people overall. After my education and training, I practiced obstetrics and gynecology initially in Washington, D.C. and then relocated to Atlanta, GA where I practiced for several years. I was blessed with a thriving practice as an entrepreneur during that time and recently decided to relocate in 2017 to Huntsville where God has blessed me with another thriving practice - The Image of Eve Restored, Inc. I am accepting new patients and would love to have you as a patient.

One of my favorite proverbs that I live by is found in Matthew 6:25-34, which puts life and all its concerns in their proper perspective.
